Lola is mad about Charly, the most handsome and enigmatic boy in her year. Virginia, however, loudly boasts that she has won Charlyâs heart and she has even kissed him. This is just too much for LOLA, who throws down the gauntlet to her rival: which of the two will be the first to get a kiss from Charly, in front of witnesses? The odds are stacked against Lola â she might as well be invisible as far as Charly is concerned, and Virginia is ready to use all her considerable power and influence. Lola comes up with a way to seize victory, by organising a school play based on the tale of Sleeping Beauty.
John Bloom, a successful teenage actor, disappears without trace and, under cover, starts at Lolaâs school. John is fleeing from fame because he wants to be a normal boy and have real friends. Lola discovers his true identity but, when she realises what his personal motives are, she promises to keep his secret. The crisis begins when Virginia also finds out who he is. For Virginia, this is a fantastic opportunity to leap to fame.
Lola is in love with Charly, the best-looking boy in the entire school. But she doesnât stand a chance. Charly already has a girlfriend, who is absolutely stunning and, what is more, two years older than her. One day, Lola accidentally witnesses Charly breaking up with his girlfriend. During the argument, she tears up two tickets that Charly had bought for the cup final. Lola spends all her savings and buys the cheapest tickets for this match. Thanks to these, Lola manages to get Charly, the boy of her dreams, to go out with her. But her happiness does not last long. Very soon, Virginia gets wind of what has happened and buys the two most expensive tickets in the stadium.
LOLA and HAIDÃ have been friends since nursery school and nothing and no one has ever managed to separate them. VIRGINIA, who is green with envy, sets out to destroy their friendship. Her chance comes the day that LOLA and HAIDÃ buy a t-shirt to share between them.
For a school assignment, LOLA, POPPY and HAIDÃ visit POPPYâs aunt, Sara Africati, an elderly anthropologist, whose house is stuffed full of objects from remote, primitive cultures. Among these objects, Aunt Sara has an incredible collection of dolls from all around the world. During the visit, LOLA and her friends find out that the aunt is in serious trouble: the bank is about to repossess her house and everything in it. What aunt Sara is most distressed about is losing her collection of dolls, which she plans to save whatever it takes. She therefore asks the girls not to mention the existence of the doll collection. But during their presentation, LOLA, not to be outdone by VIRGINIA, shows the entire class the photos of the dolls. VIRGINIA immediately sets out to get the collection for herself, by hook or by crook.
LOLA is a great fan of an ecology programme shown on TV, called Friendly Planet and hosted by the Planet Girl. One day, the Planet Girl comes to the school to promote a recycling campaign, causing a great stir among the students. Lola is interested in recycling, but above all she is fascinated by the Planet Girlâs life - swimming with dolphins, visiting schools where all the boys swoon over her, etc. LOLA manages to speak with the Planet Girl and asks her what she would have to do in order to get the job when it becomes free. The Planet Girl tells her to forget it â thereâs absolutely no way sheâs going to give it up. Everything changes when VIRGINIA, who is also desperate to get the job, fries the Planet Girlâs beautiful auburn locks to a crisp frizz.
During a winter sports class, Lola is preparing to make the most of the joys of skiing with her friends. Not counting Virginia, who has decided to make the most of the slopes alone, with only the company of the handsome ski instructorâ¦whilst leaving the rest of the class behind. But Lola has no intention of letting her get away with it! The descent is going to be eventful!
A new theme park is about to open in the city. Lola and her friends, who desperately want to visit it on opening day, work hard and manage to get the money for the tickets. But when they go to the ticket office they discover, to their horror, that there is not a single ticket left. Virginia has bought them all.
Lola and Virginia have a habit of fighting against each other, but for the school rally, they were selected for the same team. The two girls have two things in common: they canât stand each other and they both want to win. Will they overcome their animosity to achieve their goal?
One day, VIRGINIA plays a practical joke on SUSIE, their childish classmate, making her the laughing stock of the class. VIRGINIA prepares everything to make it look as if LOLA was responsible for the joke. The TEACHER, very angry with Lola, punishes her by appointing her as Susieâs tutor. So, every afternoon, LOLA has to go home with SUSIE and help her with her homework. What starts out as a dreadful punishment suddenly turns into a real pleasure when LOLA meets RAFA, Susieâs elder brother. But LOLAâs good luck doesnât last for long. Very soon, VIRGINIA finds out about RAFA existence and a ferocious battle ensues to win his heart.
Itâs coming up to Lolaâs birthday. She expects all her classmates will join her at her place to celebrate it, as they do every year. The party promises to be a modest affair, but great fun. But then LOLA discovers, much to her surprise, that VIRGINIAâs birthday is on the same day as hers. VIRGINIA intends to throw a party at exactly the same time as LOLA and it promises to be a rather spectacular affair. Which of the two will get more people to attend her party?
Virginia turns up at school wearing a new dress by the most prestigious fashion designer of the moment. However, her hopes of making a grand entrance are shattered when she discovers that Lola is the centre of attention, with a new t-shirt she has painted herself. Virginia is not about to take this lying down and so she confronts Lola. This confrontation gives rise to a new challenge for Lola: in less than a week, she has to get the entire city to wear the t-shirts designed by her.
LOLA, POPPY and HAIDÃ are hard at work preparing a dance routine for the end-of-term show at school. They, like the rest of their classmates, desperately want to be chosen to take part. When it comes to voting for the best acts, thereâs absolute chaos in class. VIRGINIA takes advantage of the situation to present herself as a self-sacrificing defender of the common good and be appointed as director of the show. VIRGINIA will use her position to make sure that she is the star of the show, while the others pathetically crawl around the stage. Thereâs no way LOLA is going to let her get away with this.
LOLA, POPPY and HAIDÃ form the âsecrets clubâ. On the first day of each month, they get together to tell each other their secrets, which they then keep in an old tin. Every month, one of the three is responsible for taking care of the tin. Up to now, sharing secrets has always been great fun. But one day, when it is LOLAâs turn to look after the tin, VIRGINIA, jealous of their friendship, manages to read the contents of the tin. This leads to a downward spiral of events that almost destroys their friendship.
Lola enters the âRice Speediesâ cereal contest. She needs to collect the most cards possible to win the moped of her dreams. This makes Virginia want a moped. Itâs easier for her ; all she has to do is ask her parents for whatever she wants. But Virginia has trouble accepting being told no for the first time in her. Sheâll still get a moped ! Sheâll enter the « Rice Speedies » contest ! Lola ends up competing with Virginia whoâd do anything to winâ¦
One day, LOLA discovers that OSWALDO PORRI, Virginiaâs personal therapist, is about to allow her to return to her old school. The therapist thinks sheâs made great progress with her psychological problem. But there is still one matter to be resolved â VIRGINIAâs disastrous relationship with LOLA. Pressurised by the TEACHER, the therapist agrees to give it one more week. If in that time VIRGINIA and LOLA start getting on better, VIRGINIA will leave San Lorenzo forever. This would be a dream come true for both LOLA and VIRGINIA, and so they make a pact: for one week, they will pretend to best the best of friends.
LOLA is on the editorial team of the school newspaper, along with other students. The latest edition is about to come out and they still havenât decided what should go on the front page. The only halfway decent idea is a report on the twins AGI and YUKIO, who are about to resolve a difficult equation, which they have been working on for a long time. LOLA is not enthusiastic about the subject, until VIRGINIA shows up with a different suggestion: a report about her, as she has just been included in the list of the continentâs best dressed girls. There's no way LOLA is going to accept this, so she staunchly defends the report on the twins and manages to convince the rest to reject VIRGINIAâs idea. But Ms. Toffen refuses to admit defeat and she swings into action, halting work on the equation by making one of the twins believe he is going on a secret scientific mission to the Antarctic.
POPPY and CHARLY are the schoolâs male and female representatives chosen to take part in an important competition that will take place in Barcelona. When she finds out that POPPY will be spending a whole week alone with CHARLY, LOLA is green with envy. During one of the training sessions, POPPY has an accident due to a piece of chewing gum. Everything would seem to indicate that LOLA is the culprit. Shortly after, the GYM TEACHER announces trials to find a replacement for POPPY. LOLA would love to go to Barcelona with CHARLY, but she feels far too guilty to even think about presenting herself. Things, however, become more complicated when VIRGINIA adds her name to the list of hopeful candidates.
LOLA falls in love with DAVID, a boy who comes to her school for a short time on a music scholarship. But her hopes are crushed when DAVID confesses that he is in turn head over heels in love with VIRGINIA. VIRGINIA, however, has rejected him and so LOLA, in order to be near him and try to win his heart, suggests that they pretend to be going out together. In this way, VIRGINIA will surely start to take an interest in him. Things become even more complicated when LOLA starts believing her own lies.
In class, during an ancestry lesson, Lola mocks Virginia, reminding her that she is related to the monkey. Virginia doesnât need any more reason to come up with her most devilish plan yet: making out that the two of them are related!! Suddenly, on the net, everyone can see that Lola and Virginia are cousins and Virginia hastens to proclaim the news loud and clear! Family is family and even though you canât choose them, you have to be considerate to them⦠Lola decides to make Virginia regret her imposture by testing her family spirit.
Before watching a horror film, Lola and Virginia set a challenge to find out who is the bravest. When it comes to betting, the two girls have plenty of pluck: it means them spending the night at San Lorenzo cemetery, the object of sinister rumors, without getting scaredâ¦Chills down the spine guaranteed!
Lola introduces her exchange mate Chichita Gonzales to all her friends. Virginia is envious. What luck ! Virginia does everything she can to get Chichita to come to her place. But Lola keeps outsmarting Virginia until she realizes that living with Chichita is a nightmare. Chichita loves to have fun alright, but only at other peopleâs expense ! Lola manages to get Virginia to invite Chichita to her place. Lola thinks sheâs rid of Chichita, but Virginia, who canât stand any more of Chichitaâspranks, threatens to send her back to Lola! Lola and Virginia join forces to play a trick on Chichita to show her that you canât always make fun of others and get away with it.
Lola is the President of the San Lorenzo branch of the Fan Club of Marco Amore, a singer who is a big favourite among teenage girls. It is by no means an easy task. Virginia laughs at Lola and the other members of the club, which she thinks is pathetic. One day, Lola writes a biography of her idol and sends it to him by e-mail. Lola signs the message as the President of the San Lorenzo Fan Club. Shortly after, Lola receives a reply. Marco Amore loves the biography and wants to come to San Lorenzo to meet the president of the Club in person. When Virginia finds out, she decides to steal her job off her.
Itâs the school robot competition. Lola and her friends relentlessly work on their creation. The twins, who usually win all the invention prizes, are forfeiting to give their friends a chance. So, when Lola sees them coming out of Virginiaâs lab, she thinks there is something suspicious going on. Suspecting Virginia of playing devilish tricks to keep the twins under her thumb, Lola does a little investigating and decides to catch Virginia in her own trap.
Lola, who wishes to do some work experience in the summer, offers Virginiaâs dad, a loyal customer of the twinsâ restaurant, to deliver his sushis to his house. Itâs a deal! Admiring this initiative, he asks his daughter to do some work experience with him during the holidays. Virginia is horrified: Thanks to Lola, her dad is asking her to cancel her holiday in the Bahamas! For Virginia, there is only one solution: to ruin Lolaâs business and get the idea of work experience out of her dads head once and for all!
Lola is captain of the school basketball team. And for the first time in 47 years, the team is in the final! If the team wins, the girls will go down in school legend! Thatâs one good reason why VIRGINIA wants to be on the team and become captain! All it takes is a phone call to Daddy for him to sponsor the team! The coach, Mr DEKINIS agrees to his new sponsorâs every whim and wish. But LOLA wonât stand for it for long!
When VIRGINIA has been in San Lorenzo for 100 days, she gives LOLA and her friends a book written by her. The book, which is entitled 100 Days in San Lorenzo, is met with indignation by LOLA and her companions. It depicts the neighbourhood as a disgusting place and LOLA and her friends as a gang of thugs. VIRGINIA, on the other hand, is portrayed as a heroine endowed with all possible virtues. Very soon, thanks to her father's power and influence, Virginiaâs book is in all the bookshops. Then, in an attempt to clean up the neighbourhoodâs image, the city council decides to demolish the skateboard bowl where LOLA and her mates usually meet.
Lola, a radio presenter at San Lorenzo college, is very popular with the studentsâ¦Virginia does not view Lolaâs success in a favourable light â especially as their tastes in radio differ dramatically. They say if you want something doing well, do it yourself, so Virginia launches her own radio program. The objective: to shut up her rival. Between the two competing presenters, anything goes. Fury on the radio.
VIRGINIA is having âteaâ with a group of female friends from her former school, the highly-prestigious Columbus College. She thus finds out about a rumour that makes her fuming mad: apparently, everyone at Columbus is saying that sheâs all washed up and that at her new school none of the boys are interested in her. To save her honour, VIRGINIA lies, saying that she and CHARLY, the cutest boy in the school, are going out together. Her friends donât believe her and they tell VIRGINIA to organise another little get-together to introduce them to CHARLY. CHARLY, however, already has something on that day - heâs going to the premiere of a film with LOLA. In desperation, VIRGINIA tries out an exotic soap that supposedly acts like a âlove potionâ.
During a biology lesson, Virginia goes into raptures over a beautiful frog: She wants it for her next fancy dress party. To achieve this, she draws up a devilish plan: make Lola, who loves animals, think that the biology teacher wants to dissect the frog. Lola immediately organises a rescue operation to protect the frog. But by the time she realizes that she has been tricked by Virginia, itâs too late: Her enemy has long gone with the frog. Lola has to do everything in her power to get the animal back safe and sound, and to give Virginia a taste of her own medicine.
LOLA has gone back to her business of walking dogs. One night, while she is walking a mischievous group of dogs, she finds out that the twins AGI and YUKIO have found the fossil of a fly and are going to be on âYoung Geniusesâ, a popular science programme on TV. LOLA, delighted at the news, organises a rousing welcome for the twins at school the next day. However, VIRGINIA is green with envy and decides to steal the twinsâ thunder. Her chance comes in the form of BORIS, a trafficker in objects of doubtful origin. BORIS somehow manages to procure a dinosaur skeleton and bury it in the school playground, so that VIRGINIA can âdiscoverâ it the next day. But before that happens, one of the dogs that LOLA is walking discovers the first bone of the dinosaur.
Itâs coming up to carnival and all the schools in the city are going to take part in the parade, each one with its float. At San Lorenzo, they canât agree what the theme of their float will be. VIRGINIA is yet again determined to take centre stage. LOLA and the other students, who know her well by now, do not intend to let her get away with it.
A brand new ice-cream parlour has just opened in San Lorenzo, with a special corner for lovers, the âLove Seatâ. When two people sit there they effectively making a public declaration that they are a âcoupleâ. LOLA dreams of sharing the love seat with the unattainable CHARLY. Her chance unexpectedly comes during a maths exam. CHARLY, who has hidden a crib-sheet in a bracelet, loses it shortly after the end of the exam. LOLA picks it up and arranges to meet CHARLY incognito in order to return it to him. The problems begin when VIRGINIA finds out and manages to get the bracelet off LOLA.
Itâs coming up to the cityâs School Olympics and this year they are being held at San Lorenzo High School. The organising committee has decided that the torch-bearer should be a female athlete from this school. This girl must meet one condition â she must have achieved at least one sporting victory in inter-school competitions. At San Lorenzo, as far as anyone knows, there is just one student who fulfils this requirement - POPPY. LOLA and HAIDÃ are overjoyed at the news. Their joy, however, is short-lived, as VIRGINIA questions this, claiming that she too is a champion â in her case in horse-riding.
Just before she has to hand it in, LOLAâs brothers mess up an assignment she had been working hard on. Though she ticks her off for the presentation, the TEACHER praises LOLA in front of the whole class for the content of her work. VIRGINIA, who had handed in an impeccably-presented assignment, is not even mentioned. VIRGINIA is absolutely furious. Meanwhile, LOLA is desperate to buy some roller-blades. As she has no money, she answers an advert in the paper for someone to water the plants and look after the cat while the homeowner is away. It turns out that the person who placed the ad is none other than the TEACHER. LOLA gets the job and goes to her house, eager to fulfil her mission. But VIRGINIA, seeking revenge, will do everything she can to make LOLA look bad in front of the teacher.
VIRGINIA has invited her old friends from Columbus college to a pyjama party at her house. It is extremely boring and VIRGINIAâs reputation as a hostess is at an all-time low. The next day, VIRGINIA comes up with an idea to ensure her next party will be a success: to invite LOLA so they can all laugh at her. But LOLA has no time for VIRGINIA and her stupid friends, and anyway sheâs going to be spending the whole weekend working on the Marco Amore fan club, which she is president of. VIRGINIA refuses to give up, and asks LUCAS, who is an excellent imitator, to record a message on her mobile, imitating MARCO AMORE, saying that he will be going to her next party. LOLA falls into the trap.
A sporting and cultural championship is being held among the cityâs schools. For the first time, the San Lorenzo team manages to make it to the final, thanks to the fact that VIRGINIA is competing in horse-riding. Also for the first time, VIRGINIA feels integrated and appreciated by her school companions. Even LOLA congratulates her, in her own way, on her triumph. Everything changes when the name of their opponents is announced: Columbus College, VIRGINIAâs old school. Shortly after, VIRGINIA is visited by her old friend LETICIA, who blackmails her.
There is a rather unusual tradition in VIRGINIAâs family. Every time her father builds or buys a building, they hang a picture painted by VIRGINIA in it. On this occasion, her father is paying for a library extension at San Lorenzo High School. VIRGINIA takes advantage to show off in front of all her school companions, saying what a wonderful artist she is. LOLA canât stand her boasting, and manages to turn the selection of the picture for the new library into a competition open to the whole school.
VIRGINIAâs academic results at San Lorenzo are not as good as they should be, and her psychologist gives her parents some advice â they should take her credit cards off her until she starts making an effort and gets top marks in maths. LOLA, meanwhile, uses the maths class to write her most intimate secrets in her diary. Unfortunately, the HEADMASTER catches her and confiscates her diary. LOLA, fearing that her secrets will be read out at the next teachersâ meeting, sneaks into the HEADMASTERâs office to get it back. But, in her rush, LOLA picks up the wrong book. Instead of her diary, she takes the HEADMASTER's exam notebook. Things become even more complicated when VIRGINIA finds out. That notebook is just what she needs to get 10 out of 10 in the forthcoming exam.
Thereâs a rumour going round school: SANTI, a former companion of VIRGINIAâs at Columbus College, is coming to San Lorenzo. LOLA and her friends dream that the new boy will be good-looking and great fun, but VIRGINIA quickly dashes their hopes. The last time she saw SANTI, he was and ugly, 7-year-old geek with missing teeth. Shortly after they hear this news, the HEADMASTER appoints VIRGINIA to be the new boyâs âSupport Studentâ. Her mission will be to accompany him, show him round the school and help him make friends. VIRGINIA fakes an accident and thus manages to get out of it. Not happy with this, she speaks to the HEADMASTER and manages to get him to appoint LOLA as her replacement. Everything changes when SANTI makes his appearance at school. He has turned into a very good-looking, friendly and sensitive young man.
LOLA, dressed as a yogurt, is going to a fancy-dress party at the school. On the way, she is almost run over by a taxi. It turns out that the passenger in this taxi is none other than ANTONIO REDONDO, a famous, handsome teenage tennis-player, who is wearing a âPrince Charmingâ costume. ANTONIO offers to give LOLA a lift to the party, which heâs also going to. It is only when they get there that LOLA discovers that ANTONIO had been talking about another party, in a luxury hotel. LOLA stays for a while and dances with ANTONIO, until HAIDÃ calls her and she has to leave. In her rush, LOLA loses her glasses. The next day, a note appears at school, in which ANTONIO says he would like to see his âyogurt girlâ again. But VIRGINIA manages to get hold of note before anyone else has seen it, and she claims that she is the yogurt girl.
VIRGINIA buys compulsively. Her parents are very worried about her go to the psychologist Doctor PORRI. But he is unable to solve the problem. VIRGINIA is too much for him. The situation looks desperate, but then VIRGINIAâS MOTHER remembers that there is one person who has taken on her daughter and has emerged victorious on more than one occasion - LOLA. LOLA also has problems. She has been punished by the HEADMASTER for organising protests against the reduction in break time. Both stories come together when the HEADMASTER asks LOLA to help VIRGINIA stop buying. In exchange, he will cancel her punishment.
LOLA has convinced her companions to build an enormous emblem for the school football team. Itâs a success and LOLA becomes the most popular student in the school. Enthused by all this, HAIDÃ and POPPY decide to present LOLA as a candidate for âStudent of the Yearâ, an honorific award that is given to a student who has excelled for some reason â academic, sporting, human, etc. When VIRGINIA finds out, she has an attack of envy and takes a decision that will complicate everything: she will be the next âStudent of the Yearâ.
One day, on a website called âThe Magic of Namesâ, HAIDÃ discovers that her ideal boy is called CHUCK. HAIDÃ is so credulous that she falls in love with the only CHUCK she knows, one of her classmates. Despite her scepticism with regard to magic, LOLA helps her friend to conquer CHUCK. VIRGINIA, envious of the friendship between LOLA and HAIDÃ, manipulates things so that everyone believes that LOLA and CHUCK are going out together. HAIDÃ is furious and refuses to speak to her best friend.
VIRGINIA is boasting to the girls at school that that weekend she got off with the best-looking boy at one of her parties. She leaves them in no doubt â she is number one. If she decides she wants a boy heâs powerless to resist. LOLA canât stand this and questions her claims. They argue. Inevitably, the name of CHARLY, the unattainable school heart-throb, comes up. In the heat of the moment, LOLA makes an outrageous claim â that she and CHARLY have in fact been going out together, in secret, for some time now. VIRGINIA, of course, doesnât believe a word of this and it all ends in a challenge. LOLA must demonstrate her claim.
