LOLA falls in love with DAVID, a boy who comes to her school for a short time on a music scholarship. But her hopes are crushed when DAVID confesses that he is in turn head over heels in love with VIRGINIA. VIRGINIA, however, has rejected him and so LOLA, in order to be near him and try to win his heart, suggests that they pretend to be going out together.
