Red Bull Art of Motion -Viena
At Red Bull Art Of Motion the best freerunners showed how creatively it?s possible to move from A to B ? armed with nothing more than their own talent for movement.
bout 3000 fans were present to witness the spectacular potential of this new sport on October 6: at the first international contest of its kind worldwide 29 freerunners gave their all on the 100-year-old Meiselmarkt in Vienna. Each contestant had 1:30 minutes and two rounds each to show what they?re made of on a course with several platforms, scaffolding and drops that were several meters high. The winner of the contest was chosen by the participants themselves after a final of the best six.

The winner of the first Red Bull Art Of Motion was the Brit Ryan Doyle, who was the last to make the finals. But he had to celebrate his triumph in hospital: Doyle attempted to break the artistic record of the day with a three-fold corkscrew from a three-and-a-half meter high platform. What he broke was his leg: "Not such a big deal," he commented on the accident, unperturbed. ?With the victory itself I got more than enough compensation.?
